OSRAM Developed the World's Most Efficient Flexible OLED Lighting Panel

Nov 11, 2011 OLED-info reports on the recent exciting development from OSRAM - a new flexible OLED with an efficiency of 32 lm/W - which makes is the world's most efficient OLED lighting panel (according to OSRAM). The new panel is made on a thin steel foil with a thickness of approximately 100 micrometers - like a sheet of paper. Nov 9, 2011 Lumenpulse has published the detailed case study on LED illumination project of historical Cermac Plaza near Chicago, IL. Lumenpulse Lumenfacade™ RGB fixtures were used as they offered advantages such as small footprint of the luminaires that enabled them to be mounted into the canopy, and outstanding performance in temperatures as low as -25C/-13F. The project was taken one step further in terms of environmental friendliness -  the Lumenpulse fixtures are powered with 12 wind turbines that cultivate energy from the edge of the plaza’s parking lot. In combination with the energy efficient lighting, the 35 foot tall turbines are a dynamic, visible and recognizable environmental statement as well as artistic feature that generates 1,500 to 2,500 kilowatt hours of electricity each year. During the daytime, when the LED fixtures are off, unused power is directed back to the grid – actually earning income for Cermak Plaza Associates LLC which also receives a federal credit for installing green technology.

New Swtich Dimmable LED Driver Launched by Supertex

Nov 9, 2011 Supertex, Inc. has introduced HV9801A, a power saving, switch dimmable, LED driver integrated circuit (IC) designed to drive LEDs in dimmable household and office lighting applications. The IC dims LED lamp brightness to one of four preset levels through simple, rapid toggling of a light switch. Light levels progress up and down sequentially and if the switch is turned off for more than a second, the lamp returns to full brightness.
