US EPA Releases First Draft of Energy Star Lamp V1.0 SpecificationsOct 25, 2011 The US EPA ended last week with the release of its first draft of the Energy Star Lamp V1.0 specification for partners and stakeholders to review and comment on before December 6. In a cover letter accompanying the anticipated standards for compact fluorescent lamps, integral LED lamps, and GU24-based fluorescent lamps, Alex Baker, ENERGY STAR Lighting Program Manager, explained the process in defining the requirements addressed by the draft. The Agency noted its current focus in the draft was on aspects beyond lamp efficacy that would also attend to "consumer barriers to the adoption of energy efficient lighting."
