Boston to use LED streetlights
Jul 27, 2011 Boston has announced the replacement of traditionally used mercury-vapor streetlights with energy efficient LED based units from Philips Hadco. The replacement streetlights will be the RX1 and RX2 luminaires that are expected to last 18 years or longer. The RX1 is based on the Philips LEDGINE LED platform. It features LUXEON LEDs and a modular approach that allows for easy repairs and replacements.
Detailed information on RX1 and RX2 streetlights can be found here: http://hadco.com/Hadco/Upload/Content/downloads/RX1_Brochure.pdf
Philips Hadco is working together with Hurry Associates to complete the installation before the end of 2011.
