Live Webinar Discusses Design Challenges of LEDs with Carol Lenk
Aug 8, 2011 Upcoming this Wednesday there will be a "webinar' with speaker Carol Lenk about the design challenges associated with LEDs. While LEDs present a broad array of uses, there is also the aesthetic aspect to consider equally. Topics during the webinar will include how the process to design LEDs begins, what are some of the challenges that arise, and why LEDs will become a ubiquitous light source.
Carol Lenk, the speaker at the webinar, is a graduate of MIT who was a founder of the LED devloper Superbulbs, and is now with Reliabulb. Her background includes a BS in Electrical Engineering from MIT and a Masters in Math and Education, as well as co-authoring the book Practical Lighting Design with LEDS. Her experience as one of the earlier people to begin developing LEDs as a light source, in addition to the five years experience she has combining "theoretical concepts with practical engineering" in the fields of optics, thermal modeling, material science, electronics, and mechanical design, marks her knowledge in the field. Currently, Lenk over a dozen patents-pending over projects connected to LED lighting.
The chat will include a live online audio interview with Lenk and Design News Content Director Alex Wolfe. Moreover, the radio audience will be able to actively speak in an instant online chat with guest speaker Lenk after the half hour interview.
