OLED-info has posted a detailed hands on review of Blackbody V-LUX OLED desk lamp. The review features detailed assembly and lamp lighting experience with pictures and video. The lamp includes two OLED panels, each 100 cm2 in size with a color rendering index of 80 and a color temperature of 3200K. The V-LUX lamp consumes 2.8 W and its size is 35 (H) x 25 (W) x 46 (L) cm. The price is €572.

In a new decision reached by Korea's Commission for Shared Growth for Large and Small Companies, LG and Samsung have been restricted by a ban on selling LED products in Korea. Along with other conglomerates, or chaebols, the two industrial giants were recommended to 'withdraw' from the nation's LED market in a second round of decisions made by the government.

ON Semiconductor has released its third quarter results for 2011 such as the total revenue, $898.0 million, which is a relative decrease of about 1% compared to the second quarter of 2011. The company also reports a GAAP net loss of $49.4 million for this third quarter, which is equivalent to $0.11 per fully diluted share. This net loss was affected by the $65.4 million worth of "restructuring, asset impairment and other charges which were primarily related to [their] announced closure of the Aizu, Japan factory," along with other special items.

Larson Electronics' has announced the addition of an economical LED alternative to halogen and metal halide light towers. Compared to the two traditional light tower types, the WALTP-2XWP400 LED light tower produces an equivalent amount of light with a competitive total area coverage. This LED light tower also costs less than its HID counterparts, and produces more cost savings through its reduced energy consumption and low bulb maintenance.

Global LEDs/OLEDs reports that Verbatim has launched new OLED module for simplified implementation by lighting designers, artists, engineers, and architects.The new module is using the company's VELVE OLED (organic light-emitting diode) panels. Each module comprises a colour-tunable, framed VELVE OLED panel with a light emitting area of 123mm x 123mm. A printed circuit board with the control electronics is mounted onto the back of each panel. The whole assembly measures 146.4mm wide x 133.3mm long x 8.7mm deep and weights 192 grams.
