Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com Releases New Explosion-Proof LED
Aug 23, 2011 Larson Electronics has announced through Magnalight.com its new explosion-proof emergency LED light, the EXP-EMG-12W-2L. Along with 90 minutes of back-up battery life in times of power failure, it has been approved a Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1 & 2 emergency light.
The new low-maintenance model was made to last 10 years, contains two 6 watt LED lamps, and a high-temperature Nickel-Cadmium rechargeable battery for powering the lights in an emergency. This battery automatically recharges at normal power to act as a constant safeguard against power failure. With features like its low maintenance and secondary power features, this LED model was made for hazardous environments as an "effective and reliable safety" lighting option.
However, there are also safeguards for protecting the battery itself when in use. Sensors prevent damage from deep discharging when the backup reaches a low voltage condition, turning off the unit. The durable nature of this LED model also extends into its ability to withstand temperatures ranging from 0-40 degrees Celsius. It copper free aluminum construction and epoxy power coat finish prevent corrosion, and the LED lamps within are "exceptionally long lived and highly resistant" to shocks, impacts and vibrations.
