Research Highlights: Tailoring Efficiency of Hybrid Light-Emitting Diodes
Aug 29, 2011 Research team from Spain led by Emilio Palomares has reported in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces that specially tailored nanoporous metal oxide can be used to improve efficiency of hybrid light-emitting diode.
They have been able to modify the planar organic/inorganic interface of the hybrid light-emitting diodes by the addition of crystalline nanoporous Zr oxide. The publication describes in detail the preparation and characterization of the novel controlled 3D interface and discusses how the interaction between the metal oxide and the polymer at the interface results in overall efficiency improvement.
