BlueStar Energy Announces Success of LED System in Library
Sep 2, 2011
BlueStar Energy has announced the success of a recent lighting renovation for the Village of Franklin Park's Public Library. As a result of the lighting system BlueStar designed, the library's energy consumption has been reduced by 56%.
Focuses included creating energy costs savings that could be used elsewhere, improving light levels to be uniform and good quality, reducing energy used, and using the "greenest" technology available. BlueStar worked alongside the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to collect about $19,000 in energy efficiency incentives. They achieved this by proving the expected energy savings that result from LED technology.
After review of what the library lacked, BlueStar developed a new LED lighting control system. The LED lighting system not only enhances lighting, but also "maximizes daylight harvesting technology," has full dimmable controls and occupancy sensors.
Stan Monkus, Franklin Park Public Library Business Manager, praises that after working with BlueStar and developing an LED system, "we could not be happier with BlueStar Energy's commitment and achieving our vision."
