Dialight's SafeSite® Receives Class I Div 2 Certification
Sep 8, 2011
Dialight, a global leader in LED technology, has announced the recent Class I Div 2 certification of its SafeSite® LED Area Light. This signifies the light can be used in "hazardous locations where gas and vapors may be present," such as in uses with oil and gas, pharmaceutical, chemical and other applications.
This versatile model can be used in various applications, given its low T5 temperature rating and availability in 180 degree forward-throw or 360 degree optics. High efficiency is also characteristic of the Dialight SafeSite® model, requiring only 70 watts to produce 5,500 lumens. The area light is intended as a replacement of up to 250-watt HID light sources, though the LED is unlike its predecessors in its lighter weight and compactness. With an operating voltage range from 100-277 VAC coupled with several mounting options, the SafeSite® LED can be easily installed as a replacement.
There is also the durability of the LED that makes it last in harsher environments. The polycarbonate lens and epoxy polyester finish in the design create high resistance to corrosion, adding a visual appeal, while also creating a high resistance to shock and vibration.
The long-lasting qualities of the LED can provide up to 10 years of lighting, without any maintenance, and operate from temperatures as low as -40 and as high as +149 degrees Fahrenheit.
