Grote Announces New WhiteLight LEDs in Stock and Shipping
Sep 9, 2011
Grote Industries, a high-performance LED provider for the transportation industry, has announced the availability of its new 62191 LED WhiteLight Recessed-Mount Dome Lamp. Designed for refrigerated environments with the ability to work in subzero temperatures, the LED is a desirable alternative to fluorescent lamps.
While Grote was also the first to add a technology making fluorescents function better in lower temperatures, the modern refrigerated environments have gotten colder and challenge the incandescent replacements. The new LEDs in comparison can withstand temperatures as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit, operate consistently, and still maintain lighting quality.
The company created the LED WhiteLight technology to offer the industry an "equally dependable alternative to fluorescent lamps." Another reason the WhiteLight LEDs were introduced was for use in areas where fluorescents were vulnerable to impact or concussion.
The model can operate in the temperature range of 122 degrees Fahrenheit to -40 degrees Fahrenheit and has a built-in thermal protection device. Its outside is a one-piece, power-coated aluminum housing with a removable polycarbonate lens.
Compared to fluorescents, the WhiteLight's six high-output diodes emit 1,000 of light, while using only 63% of the electrical current. The solid state circuit board also eliminates problems with failing bulbs or ballasts that are common to fluorescents, and is as easy to install as Grote's 10- and 18 diode models.
