UBM Electronic Announces Details of Designing With LEDs
Sep 15, 2011
UMB Electronics, a division of UBM, a key source of business and technical information for electronic industry leaders, has announced the lineup for EDN's Designing With LEDs, a technical seminar and workshop for design engineers, lasting the full day. The event is set to take place Tuesday, September 27, 2011 with ESC Boston, at the Hynes Convention Center.
"[High-brightness LEDs] shape light into unlimited colors and places," Margery Conner, Technical Editor, UBM Electronics' EDN, expresses. This is in addition to the energy efficiency, compactness, and "tremendous opportunities for the electronics industry" the lighting solutions represent. The goal of this workshop is to continue the integration of several electronics' field to "revolutionize lighting" and "provide unparalleled connections" among divisions within the LED industry.
While a valuable networking opportunity for those in the LED industry, the workshop was also made for design engineers and systems architects to explore technologies for the new SSL components. Among the topics covered, drive and control electronics, optics, and thermal management are included. Workshops will also cover secondary optics of LED lighting like LED system reliability and dimming capabilities.
Some sponsors of the program are International Rectifier, Mouser Electronics, Allied Electronics, Coilcraft, Philips Lumileds, and OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, among many others.
