Japanese Endo Lighting Acquires ICON and Enters U.S. Market
Oct 6, 2011
Japanese company Endo Lighting Corporation, the country's leading designer, manufacturer, and suppliers of LED fixtures, entered the U.S. market with the addition of ICON, International in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Both companies have the common goals of innovation and quality design in developing new LED lighting.
ICON President Michael Goeller said of the new deal, "This is a very good match." Both companies aim to create light that "enhances the ambiance of the surroundings while integrating technologies" for energy-efficiency.
Endo Lighting is a public traded company with 1600 employees and factories spanning across the three nations of Japan, China, and Thailand, having developed the world's widest range of LED products. Through ICON's knowledge and management team, the corporation will introduce its products to the U.S. Of the 2600 products available, there is "an LED solution for every single conventional light," said Goeller. This will make it possible for ICON to fit entire buildings, commercial, industrial, and corporate, all the while doing so "beautifully, efficiently, and economically." (Goeller)
