Bridgelux's Micro SM4 To Be Available Next Year for Use in 20-40 Watt Replacement Solutions

Oct 18, 2011
Bridgelux, a leading developer and manufacturer of LED lighting, announced today the growth of its extensive solid-state light source portfolio to meet the demands of the $1 billion 20-40 W lamp replacement market, introducing the Bridgelux Micro SM4. The addition of Bridgelux's award-winning array technology into a component of a compact LED surface mountable make it ideal for use in discrete lighting.

The Micro SM4 reduces component count, cost, and size and complexity of the lighting. As such, the Micro SM4 is ideal in an LED replacement for diffuse and directional lighting applications like those with 20-40 W incandescent, 20-35 W halogen, B10-style (candelabra0, and low wattage CFL lighting. The few 4.6 watts used by the Micro SM4 can produce 330 to 520 lumens in warm white (2700K and 3000K) and cool white (5600K) color temperatures. CRI options are offered at a minimum of 80 and 90, with 3-step MacAdams Elipse colors selections, for warm white products. The Bridgelux Micro SM4 will first be available in the first quarter of 2012.
