New LED Modules for X-Cite® XLED1 Fluorescence Illumination from Lumen Dynamics

Nov 15, 2011 Lumen Dynamics has expanded its series of LED wavelength modules available with the X-Cite® XLED1 fluorescence illumination solution widening its breadth of fluorescence microscopy applications. Following the recent launch of X-Cite® XLED1, X-Cite® has expanded its array of LED modules offering researchers greater flexibility to address a variety of microscopy applications.

With a new offering of simple plug and play LED modules, the X-Cite® XLED1 is ideal for use in different applications that require the excitation of specific fluorophores. The XLED1 allows researchers to easily replace pre-aligned LEDs with maximum efficiency while benefiting from a broad range of imaging applications including activation of chameleon proteins, FRET interactions, ratiometric calcium imaging, and live cell imaging with the popular green, red and far-red dyes and fluorescent proteins. The LED wavelength modules currently available with the X-Cite® XLED1 include 365nm, 385nm, 405nm, 447mm, 460nm, 525nm, 635nm, 660nm and 750nm. Additionally, 480nm and 505nm LED modules will become available shortly.

“We are very pleased to offer customers with greater choice in LED modules for the X-Cite® XLED1 allowing investigators to conduct research for a multitude of applications,” stated Allan Firhoj, President and CEO at Lumen Dynamics. “As we continue to push forward in offering superior fluorescence illumination solutions to the market, we remain focused on the growing possibilities to advance research and address new applications.”

The X-Cite® XLED1 is a high-powered LED fluorescence illumination solution with advanced triggering capabilities that enable precise time control for high-speed image automation. Designed with researchers in mind, the XLED1 provides instant switching of wavelengths with advanced internal pulse generation for maximum control and greater data integrity in microscopy imaging applications.
