Thermal Management LED PCB Design Webinar
Nov 17, 2009 Saturn Electronics Corporation, will be hosting a Thermal Management LED PCB Design Webinar this November.
The Webinar was created in response to Saturn's concerns over fabrication notes regarding materials selection. The company will be reviewing common callouts that could cause risk of field failures, higher costs and extended production lead times. The Webinar will also offer instruction to include thermal management MCPCB design and fabrication methods that will increases the lifespan of an LED application by providing dielectric strength to the metal core PCB. Higher thermal conductivity and lower thermal resistance, through the use of one or a combination of various materials, including metal core boards, is significant.
Further, OEM concerns over the common failure mode of browning white solder mask will be addressed. Saturn will be reviewing the development of a SuperWhite LED Soldermask that can not only withstand multiple heat cycles during the fabrication and assembly processes, but also while in the field.
