The efficient LXMG221D-0700040-D2F™ LED driver eliminates bulky step-down transformers typically used in street light fixtures in these markets, providing a single-step conversion from 347VAC or 480VAC down to less than 57VDC as typically required by LED fixtures. This allows manufacturers to design lighter fixtures, which can lower product development and transportation costs. Cree Eradicates Energy-Wasting Halogens with XLamp MT-G Upgrade

Oct 26, 2011 The new MT-G LED is now more than 10 percent brighter, and can deliver up to 1670 lumens at 85C in warm white (3000K) color temperatures. Additionally, MT-G LEDs are now available in high CRI versions optimized for applications such as retail and restaurant lighting where high CRI and lighting uniformity are required. These new capabilities can enable customers to extend existing MT-G designs, and enable new applications traditionally supported by halogen light sources.

Oct 26, 2011 Tuesday, October 26 was the finishing day of NECA 2011 Trade Show and Conference, a once-a-year major North American event for large and small electrical contractors to meet the manufacturers, utilities, inventors, distributors, consultants and engineers that make their companies work. US EPA Releases First Draft of Energy Star Lamp V1.0 Specifications

Oct 25, 2011 The US EPA ended last week with the release of its first draft of the Energy Star Lamp V1.0 specification for partners and stakeholders to review and comment on before December 6. In a cover letter accompanying the anticipated standards for compact fluorescent lamps, integral LED lamps, and GU24-based fluorescent lamps, Alex Baker, ENERGY STAR Lighting Program Manager, explained the process in defining the requirements addressed by the draft. The Agency noted its current focus in the draft was on aspects beyond lamp efficacy that would also attend to "consumer barriers to the adoption of energy efficient lighting."

VantagePoint Capital Partners, DCM, El Dorado Ventures, Novus Energy Partners, IFA, Chrysalix, Harris & Harris Group, Craton Equity Partner, Jebsen Asset Management and Passport Capital participated in this financing round. To date Bridgelux has raised about $195 million in financing.
