OSRAM Opto Semiconductors’ LED Complement the Tchibo Concept of Sustainable Coffee Bars
Dec 3, 2010 Tchibo has developed a new coffee-bar concept for universities - ‘insgrüne’ [‘into nature’]. For the interior, designer Simon Brünner of ‘neuesLicht’ has chosen OSRAM Opto Semiconductors’ OSLON SSL 80 LEDs, which are economical, ecologically friendly and give pleasant light.
The qualities of LEDs by OSRAM Opto Semiconductors have convinced designer Simon Brünner: the 80° reflected beam angle was most suitable for use in his pendulum luminaire. Other factors in favour of OSLON SSL LED are their efficiency (83 lm/W at 3000 K), light quality, long lifespan, small size, low thermal resistance (typically 7 K/W) and compact size (3x3 mm). OSLON SSL LEDs are available in a wide range of colour temperatures (2,700 – 6,500 K) and provide the right light for any mood.
In the technical realization of the luminaire, Simon Brünner was supported by the OSRAM ‘LED light for you’ partner Elec-Con technology GmbH located in Passau. Elec-Con is one of the new system integrators at ‘LED light for you’ and as such supervises the professional coordination within such projects as well as between light planners and designers. The ‘LED light for you’ network initiated by OSRAM cooperates with customers on the realization of new solutions using efficient and versatile light-emitting diodes.
