Gerry NegleySSL Industry Key People
Gerry Negley is Chief Technologist at Cree LED Lighting Solutions, formerly LED Lighting Fixtures, Inc. (LLF, Inc). Prior to co-Founding LLF, Inc. in 2005, Gerry spent over 13 years at Cree, Inc. holding various roles ranging from Manager of Device Fabrication, Vice President of Manufacturing/Engineering to Chief Innovation Officer.
In 2004, Gerry Negley and Antony van de Ven saw a gap in the SSL market between component manufacturers and light fixture designers. LED Lighting Fixtures, Inc. (LLF, Inc.) was created with Neal Hunter and Tommy Coleman in 2005 to bridge this gap with a group of people having expertise ranging from LED dice/chips to LED systems. With a unique technological approach, Mr. Negley and his team have demonstrated 113.6 LPW (2700K, CRI>90) with a NIST verified R&D result. At the same time, the company ships a six-inch retrofit recessed light with an efficacy of 60 LPW at 2700K and a CRI of >90.
Mr. Negley holds a M.S. in Physics from the University of Delaware where he worked under the guidance of Dr. Ferd. E. Williams studying the Physics of Luminescence. He made his first light emitter in 1979. He is listed an inventor (or co-inventor) on 31 U.S. Patents.
